I am so, so excited for this week’s Follow Friday: Hanna Baror-Padilla. There are so many things I can say about Hanna, but first I will start with company she is building: Sotela. Sotela is “the answer to a closet where nothing fits and the time wasted trying to find something that does.” Her clothing line, launching later this year, will be versatile and each item will span multiple sizes, so that you don’t have to change out what’s in your closet as your body changes (eh hem, great for maternity wear too!). Everything Hanna makes is made in the USA and is especially eco-conscious. I can’t wait until her line comes out! In the meantime, she has a beautiful and informative blog that will help support you on your ethical fashion journey.
On a more personal note, I came across Hanna’s blog over a year ago when trying to learn more about ethical fashion during my personal journey. After a few months as an avid reader, I emailed Hanna to ask her some questions about shopping ethically, namely, is everything made in the USA ethical? We got to chatting and comparing journeys, and in June, I shared with Hanna that I secretly wanted to start a clothing store that only sold ethical clothing (and said this was one of those dreams that I have on a list with a million other ideas).
Not so much a secret or a dream anymore.
Hanna has been incredibly supportive of my personal journey in ethical fashion, as well as the growth of IMBY, and has served as a true inspiration to me. I am a HUGE fan of hers, her blog, and Sotela, and I can’t wait to see how she grows her beautiful line! Follow Hanna on Instagram and subscribe to her informative Sotela newsletter to keep up.
