  • Two steps forward and one step back 🤷🏻‍♀️ today was frustrating as I visited a new oncologist who said I basically have to start from the beginning of my treatment. When I moved to Brooklyn I didn't know how to find a doctor who had my treatment as took my insurance, and the overwhelm turned to putting it off. Since I have been out of treatment for so long, I need to go back to 3x/week (I was down to once a week) light therapy. 😔 The whole experience was frustrating-- the doctor barely made eye contact with me and I was disappointed I let myself get to this point. But if I've learned anything since my diagnosis, it's to focus on the things in my current control and how to move forward. I've also learned that stress only makes everything worse. So I'll travel to my treatments three times a week and I'll have more time to listen to podcasts and audiobooks and I'll work on gratitude that what I have isn't even worse.   • When plastic free July is every day 🌿 love @ancolienyc's dedication to zero waste. All their food and drinks come in reusable jars (I am kind of obsessed with the jars themselves!). Today's lunch was a chilled mint pea soup and it was as yummy as it was green 🌿💚 Restaurants like this prove that it is possible to go green, and half the people who walk in don't even realize!   • Instagram-- where you go to post pictures of your trash, right?! 😂 The more I focus on reducing plastic, the more questions that popup about this like single use compostables like this one from @inday_nyc. While of course it's better than plastic, did you know that this bowl and lid will only break down in a commercial compost?! Meaning there's not really a benefit to throwing this in the garbage over anything else, and you probably have to bring it back to the place where you got it from or an industrial facility to process it.
